About

At the heart of Differences Not Disabilities are advocates Kurt King and Michelle Elliott, united by a belief that every difference deserves respect and understanding.

Kurt is a passionate SEND teacher with a background in supporting children and young people with severe learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. His teaching experience gives him a deep understanding of both the barriers and the potential within SEND education.

Michelle brings award-winning business expertise alongside a deeply personal connection to the SEND community. Her journey has fuelled her determination to challenge stereotypes and push for real inclusion in schools, workplaces, and society.

Together, Kurt and Michelle combine professional knowledge and lived experience to raise awareness, provide training, and create practical tools that make life better for neurodivergent individuals and their families. Their mission is to show that every difference has value — and that inclusion should be the standard, not the exception.
